Support Martin's Annual

No Fuss Fundraiser

Help us reach our goal of $30,000.

For more information see the attached form.

We are excited to bring you our No Fuss Fundraiser.
We do not ask you to sell wrapping paper or magazines door to door! It is
a simple donation program where 100% of the funds will be used at
Martin to support programs and teachers, benefiting every child at Martin!
These funds are used for technology support and hardware, media center
books, mini-grants, character education receptions, parent
communications, cultural arts programs, teacher supply money, and other
programs that enrich the quality of education at Martin.
We know times are tough but with 1,100 students at Martin we only need
$30 per student to make our goal. Those of you able to donate more than
this will help support those that cannot. If we do not meet our goal in the
Fall, we will have an additional fundraiser involving product in the Spring.

Summer Mailing Print E-mail
Written by Julie Gilbert

Approximately 15 Martin parents and students gathered yesterday to stuff, fold, label and stamp the summer newsletter! Below is an online copy of the front page letter

The Martin Mustang

2010-2011

As we move into the hot days of August, it is time to start thinking about the start of a new school year! As PTA President, it is one of my responsibilities to talk with you about our organization, enroll you as a member, andvery importantly, encourage you to get involved in our wonderful school!

One of my goals is to promote open communication and understanding between the parents and staff of Martin. Together we can work to enhance and maximize the education of every child while aiding them in achieving their highest potential academically, socially and emotionally. We want to create an atmosphere at Martin where teachers, administrators, and students can do their best work.

We could not be an effective PTA if we did not have the support and involvement of our parents. Volunteering doesn't have to mean a huge time commitment. Whatever your time, schedule, and interests we have need of you! !We have tasks that can be performed in the evenings, during the day, or that don't involve coming to the school at all.

We need 100% participation in our PTA from parents and teachers. By becoming a member, your support will help continue arts enrichment programming, improve school facilities, and increase resources available for students, staff and parents.

This newsletter contains forms to help you get involved at Martin! After filling them out you can: Bring to the PTA table on August 2 Visitation Day, the Welcome Coffee on August 27 or to the Open House on September 7. If you prefer to mail your forms in, send to:

Martin Middle PTA, 1701 Ridge Road, Raleigh NC 27607.

Enclosed in this newsletter you will find a letter from Martin's Fundraising Chair, Anne Allen. Please dig deep as you consider your financial contribution to our no fuss fundraiser. Rather than sell products or spend a lot of money and time on prizes, we encourage you to help us meet our goal of $30,000.00 by simply writing a check! 100% of your contribution goes to the PTA. If we do not meet our goal, we will have an additional fundraiser involving products in the Spring.

I anticipate a wonderful year at Martin and look forward to the days ahead.

With Expectant Gratitude,

Julie Gilbert

The Green Team!! Print E-mail
Written by Julie Gilbert

In case you are not aware, the Building and Grounds Committee is now The Green Team at Martin. The team is being co-chaired by Anna and Keith Wilder who recently completed a 5 year commitment at Douglas Elementary to improve the landscaping after Douglas was renovated.  We have already been busy this Summer breathing some life and color back into the landscaping at Martin by adding new annual plantings at the entrances facing Ridge Road and Horton Street and working on the area outside the art and music rooms.  The 29 acre campus needs our help so we are planning to have workdays and other activities this year.  A planning session will be held after school starts.  Go Green!

If you have an interest in helping, please email Anna and Keith Wilder @ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
